Item broke after 1 hour of use and took months to get it replaced.
I had to transfere the pic's to an older XP machine from my Vista machine, then to the frame. It's resolution at 600x800 is an odd ratio that will require re-cropping all of your images.2. The frame is 8x10 matted down to a screen that is 6x8. I could not get it to import pictures from my flash drive (USB) but I admittedly didn't try very long. Two problems with this photo frame.1. It is NOT 8x10 as advertised. The software is NOT VISTA compatible and there are no updates or patches on the manufacturers website. If you can live with the above, it's nice.
If you're not directly in front of it, you can't see the pictures. viewing angle is terrible. But it was the thought that counts, right.
We gave each family member a frame this year and it is so easy to change, delete and add new pix plus for a special occassion you can plug in a jump drive and play video or a different set of pictures and not disturb your regular memory pix. We received one of the frames as a gift for Christmas 2005 and were so excited about the possibilites. We did this for a friends 50th birthday party and had it playing throughout the party.
Also, it does not come with a remote control as do many others. It would be much easier to just load a show on a memory card, a technology found in many other digital photo frames. This Digital photo frame is definitely not user friendly. It requires the installation of software and then is limited to 80 pictures in the slide show. I would not purchase it again since it is limiting and labor intensive.
